After using the original Effaclar Duo for 2 years, I was excited to try the new version. The texture is creamier than before, but it still sinks into the skin quickly and leaves a perfect matte finish for applying makeup. After using it for 3 weeks, i've noticed a greater improvement in the texture of my skin than I did with the original Effaclar. The only spots that i've had have been relatively small, and disappear by themselves within a few days after my morning & evening applications of Effaclar Duo +. The marks that are left behind by spots are fading much quicker than they did whilst using the original Effalcar Duo, so my skin looks a lot clearer.

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who suffers from acne, as its worked wonders for my skin. I didn't think the original Effaclar Duo could be improved, but La Roche Posay have done it with this!

Although I'm in my 40s, I suffer from spots and an oily t-zone; one of my biggest problems is finding products that treat the latter without drying out and aggrivating my sensitive skin. I've also struggled to find products that actually seem to make any kind of difference in terms of reducing my spots, but Effaclar Duo appears to be the exception. I've been using it now for a month, in conjunction with twice-daily Clarisonic sessions and Dermalogica moisturiser, and there has been a noticeable improvement; mainly, far fewer and smaller spots, and the texture of my skin seems to have got smoother and more even in colour. I'm impressed as I've spent a lot of money in the past on products that just haven't done anything, so I'll definitely be buying this again!

I haven't tried this long enough to say that it improves my skin. But what I can say, is that it is a great oil controller especially when used under foundation or BB cream. I'm going to use this as my new primer, it's great. As for the skin improvement claims, I'll have to see how it goes over time with regular use.

I turn to this when I have a couple of small blemishes and want something trusted and calming and easy. It does reduce redness slightly and I think it does prevent some of the small blemishes waiting to surface. But it doesn't stop large blemishes and doesn't do anything to make them subside faster.
