I tried so many liquid foundations that didn't work for me. In the last couple of years alone I tried Lancome Idole Ultra 24 h, Lancome Tein Miracle, Estee Lauder Double Wear and Double Wear light, Estee Lauder serum foundation, Bare Minerals Serum foundation, Benefit Hello Flawless, Sisley Phyto foundation, Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish, Max Factor Lasting Performance, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Chanel Vitalumiere Mat, Chanel Aqua, Makeup Forever HD, a Rimmel long lasting one, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau.... So many! Mostly high end and a few lower end but none of them worked for me. They were either too pink, too yellow or too peachy. They either made me really oily or dried my skin badly (the ones with high alcohol content tend to do this). Some slid right off, some melted, some faded ungracefully. Some lasted ok but the colours were off. Some made me look older and tired- I am 30 but no one believes my age and I still get asked for my ID all the time. Anyway, this foundation was the only one that I can say truly works for me.
The shade is perfect- 021 linen. It simply matches my medium olive skin perfectly. I don't need to use it all over and I don't need to use it on my neck- that's how well it matches me. So far, Dior has been the only brand able to match my skin colour!
The finish is lovely, flawless but light and natural. If my skin is well hydrated and well behaved it looks like I have nothing on. Never looks unnatural. Seriously, I tried to make it look bad just out for curiosity but it doesn't.
The lasting power is only comparable to Estee Lauder Double Wear and Dior Forever. These have been the only three foundations that last that well on me. All the others either melt off or just fade. If my day has been very active, it will fade but it will do so in a graceful manner. And of course, because it matches my skin it never goes patchy. Unlike Estee Lauder Double Wear and Dior Forever, Dior Star is not drying. It is neither drying nor moisturising which is perfect. I have only used this foundation in Autumn and Winter, but fingers crossed that will perform as well in the Summer!
Another thing I like about this foundation is that it doesn't break me out! That's a huge plus considering I can break out from the wrong skin care/make up. Actually, a lot of foundations make me breakout.
I am absolutely thrilled with this foundation, it is the best I tried in my entire life, that's for sure. For reference, I also tried Dior Nude but I didn't like it because of the alcohol content and the coverage was lighter but more perceptible. Star has more beautiful finish. The only foundation that has a finish as nice as Star is Guerlain Lingerie de Peau but that one makes my skin very dehydrated and flaky after a few days of use in the Winter. It would probably be lovely for Summer, but the shades are too pink for me and don't really look good on me. 5 stars for this foundation and for Escentual for selling it much cheaper than other retailers :)

This is the most unforgiving foundation I have ever bought. If you apply it incorrectly first time, you have very little chance of smudging it evenly. It's like a quick drying enamel... Even cheaper brands behave better than that.
It does not provide sufficient coverage for the black spots as the one layer is too thin, and two layers is mission impossible.
Won't buy again.

Lovely consistency, true to colour and a little goes a long way. However not really for me. I'm in my early 60s and try to take good care of my skin but find this product seems to sit in my pores . Most of the time I use Liz Earle tinted moisturiser and that suits me fine.
Think this a probably a good product but not for my old face!
